At The Artisian Loaf, you are the heart of what we do. I’m Mrs. Irlib, and every day I wake up believing that bread can heal the soul. In the midst of daily chaos, it’s easy to feel disconnected from what’s authentic—those flavors that tell stories and the shared moments that make life special. Every loaf that comes out of my oven is an invitation to rediscover the genuine.

I am deeply in love with the magic of sourdough. My journey with bread began as a curiosity over five years ago and evolved into a passion that nourishes both my spirit and those who enjoy my creations. Every loaf that comes out of my oven is a living masterpiece, fermented with patience, care, and a touch of creativity. With over 25 years of experience working in kitchens, it’s time to bake something truly my own!

From my kitchen in Smithfield, I explore unique flavors and organic ingredients like pistachio with cranberries, matcha, coconut, açaí, purple sweet potato, red berries, turmeric, pumpkin seeds, and more. Each loaf is a tribute to my love for blending tradition with innovation—a reflection of how I see the world: diverse, vibrant, and full of possibilities.

Baking bread isn’t just about mixing ingredients; it’s an act of love. It’s working with my hands, feeling the passage of time in every fermentation, listening to the dough, and offering the world something that nourishes not only the body but also the soul.

Our sourdough is 100% handcrafted, made with patience and without commercial yeasts, respecting the natural slow fermentation process.

  • Day 4 - French Toast or Bread Pudding: If it’s a bit dry, use it for French toast or bread pudding by soaking it in egg and milk.
  • Day 5 - Croutons or Bread Crumbs: If the bread is hard, cut it into cubes, toss with olive oil and herbs, and bake for croutons. You can also grind it into homemade bread crumbs.
  • How to Freeze and Store It for Up to 6 Months: Freezing sourdough bread helps maintain its freshness. Slice it before storing it in an airtight bag or wrapping it in plastic wrap to prevent moisture buildup. To thaw, let it sit at room temperature or warm it in a toaster or oven to restore its crispy texture.

  • You can freeze your bread for up 6 months.Wrap in a freezer bag whole or sliced.
  • Leave at room temperature or put in the toaster if sliced (defrost setting) to defrost your bread.
  • You can revive stale bread (moisten with water & put in oven 300°F for 10-15 minutes)

We only sell our products online and ship to all U.S. states. If you're in North Carolina, you can also choose the pickup option.

Simply select the bread you want, add it to your cart, and proceed withthe payment through our website. You can place your order from Thursday to Sunday, and you'll receive your bread between Monday and Wednesday.

Our sourdough bread is best enjoyed fresh, but if you want to keep it longer, you can freeze it. Just slice the bread and store it in an airtight bag. The bread can last up to 6 months in the freezer.
